Queets River Kings ( and Coho)

Updated: Oct 5, 2022

Once again I fished with Friend Mark Sapda and guide Robert Thomas on the Queets river, located on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. This is always an incredible trip for both Kings and Coho.

Beautiful Morning on the Queets River

We started the day fishing spinners, I landed a king and a coho, and mark landed a couple of coho.

First King of the day, Caught on a Top Brass Spinner

We moved up river and worked a 1/2 mile run for a couple of hours. Every pass we caught fish. My most productive lure was a Norman Sand Shrimp and Mark was using his Spada Spinner. I have to admit the “Spada” spinner was the most productive lure of the day.

Later in the day we switched to Bobber and eggs and I landed this 19LB Chinook!

Here is my biggest King of the day! Caught on bobber and eggs

Mark landed this beautiful 11 pound Coho on eggs as well.

It was another awesome day of fishing in the great Pacific NW!
