FISH MORE work less - that is why I got into the fishing business over 30 years ago.  I had no idea what I wanted to do for a living, but I knew it had to involve fishing.  After graduating from the University of Montana my wife and I moved to Seattle to find work and I stumbled upon a small company called Gamakatsu Hooks. They took a chance on me and I made the most of it - even moving to Georgia to help start a company called SPRO.    Eventually, I moved back to the Pacific Northwest and  started my own company, Bill Matthews Outdoors, LLC,  that works with outdoor brands  to help them grow sales, improve marketing,  develop new product and product unique content creation.  I have worked with many of the biggest names in the fishing industry including Eagle Claw, Rapala, Pautzke, Lamiglas, Luhr Jensen, Mustad as well as other outdoor companies like Bigfoot Mountain Outfitters and Vitaloop. Through it all I have always tried to stick to my roots and remember that it is all about fishing and the people who are passionate about it.

I started this blog in 2017 as a place to talk about fishing, outdoor cooking and other outdoor topics.  It has grown over the years and now helps me connect with people about the companies I work with, outdoor cooking and outdoor living in the Pacific Northwest.  Stop by and look at the latest info or browse through some of the older blogs.  If you are looking for some good reading here are a couple of my favorites
